The young son of the Emir of Khemed Mohammed Ben Kalish Ezab, he was only six years old when he appeared and is a veritable little terror who keeps playing hanging tricks on everyone he meets on his way. He is an arch-spoiled child, to whom his father refuses nothing; some of his whims will, moreover, have disastrous consequences for the latter.
He first appears in Tintin in the Land of Black Gold, where he is kidnapped by a certain Professor Smith (who is none other than Dr. Müller), from whose clutches he escapes thanks to Tintin. In Coke in stock, the emir, deposed by his rival, sends Abdullah to take refuge at Moulinsart Castle, where he makes life appalling for Captain Haddock, Nestor, and Professor Sunflower.
